Committee NewsPlanning for the 2010 Finals is well underway. Heading up this effort are:
- Barbara Ray (Millboro, Virginia). Barbara has agreed to the daunting task of chairing the 2010 Finals committee. Barbara is a well-known handler, USBCHA director, twice past Nursery national champion, and has also judged the National FInals in South Dakota in 2008.
- Dean Holcolmb (Huntersville, North Carolina). Dean Holcomb is a well-known handler, USBCHA director, and judge who was the original driving force behind the 2010 Finals. Dean runs the large, well-attended Rural Hill Sheepdog Trial every year in Huntersville, North Carolina.
- Donald McCaig (Williamsville, Virginia) is a popular author of both dog books (Nop’s Trials, Nop’s Hope, Eminent Dogs, Dangerous Men, and The Dog Wars) and historical fiction (his most recent book, Rhett Butler’s People, an authorized sequel to Gone With the Wind, was a New York Times bestseller). Donald is a past USBCHA director and was a member of the 2008 United States World Trial team. Donald will be primarily handling the trial’s public relations, including media releases, radio and television interviews, corporate sponsorships, grant money application, and programs for the finals.
- Richard Williams (Hop Bottom, Pennsylvania). Richard, an Open handler and USBCHA director, has judged trials from Nova Scotia to New Mexico. He and his wife Cheryl run the popular and longstanding Pennsylvania State Championship Stockdog Trial.
